A founding member of the group PYJÆN, Benjamin has also worked as a sideman for artists and groups such as Tjoe & NTBM, INEZA, New Brikabrak, Jack Williams, Nostalgic Orange, Olly Muxworthy, Ella Clayton, Marvin Muoneké, Sidders, BCO, Nye Banfield, Harry Brunt, George Bone, Nariaki, Sarah King, Orii Community, Annie Majin, Asha Parkinson, Queenstown Sessions, Phil Meadows' Future Movers, Megan Linnell, Decatur Street, Malika Collective, Etuk Ubong, Henry White and NYJO.
Benjamin's diverse musical makeup is rooted in traditional and contemporary Jazz, Japanese pop, Fusion, Soul and Classical. Coming from a musical family, Benjamin grew up listening to and playing in his dad's Big Band, and seeing West End shows with his mum. It was through these experiences that he developed a love for all things melodic, groovy and soulful.
Benjamin trained on Trinity Laban's Jazz course, where he got the opportunity to study and play with the titans of London's creative music scene. Benjamin is a regular feature at top music venues and festivals such as Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Cafe, Glastonbury, Love Supreme and Wilderness. Today, Benjamin continues as an important voice; performing, composing, producing, recording - as well as teaching the next generation of musicians.
